O loving Jesus, meek Lamb of God, I a miserable sinner, salute and worship the most Sacred Wound of Thy Shoulder on which Thou dist bare Thy heavy Cross, which so tore Thy Flesh and laid bare They Bones as to inflict on Thee an anguish greater than any other wound of Thy
most Blessed Body. I adore Thee, O Jesus most sorrowful. I praise and glorify Thee, and give Thee thanks for this most sacred and painful Wound; beseeching Thee by that exceeding pain, and by the
crushing burden of Thy heavy Cross to be merciful to me, a sinner, to forgive me all my mortal and venial

The Church teaches us that the souls of the just who have left this world with traces of venial sin remain for a time in a place of expiation, where they suffer whatever punishment may be due to their offenses. Even if pardon has been obtained for our sins, satisfaction must be made to God, our Creator, in this world or in the next; for His sanctity has been, as it were, insulted by the self-will of one of His ignoble creatures. The more noble the person offended, the more serious the offense, even according to human laws. It is a dogma of our faith that the suffering souls are relieved by the intercession of the Saints in heaven and by the prayers of the faithful upon earth. To pray for the dead is therefore an act of charity and of piety, certainly obligatory for a Christian who professes to have charity in his heart. Aušvices koncentrācijas nometne (vācu: Konzentrationslager Auschwitz) bija kopējs nosaukums vienam no koncentrācijas nometņu tīkliem Vācijas okupētās Polijas teritorijā Otrā pasaules kara laikā. Šī bija lielākā Vācijas koncentrācijas nometne.
Koncentrācijas nometņu tīkls sastāvēja no Auschwitz I (Stammlager jeb bāzes nometne), Auschwitz II-Birkenau (Vernichtungslager jeb iznīcināšanas nometne), Auschwitz III-Monowitz (darba nometne) un 45 satelītnometnēm. Father Werenfried van Straaten was born on January 17 1913 in Holland. He is best known as the founder of the charity Aid to the Church in Need (ACN). Before he turned 20, he entered the Norbertine Abbey in Belgium. There he was ordained a priest and showed special concern for the suffering of the millions of German refugees after World War II.
